Abstract

A holistic multidisciplinary approach goes beyond the admitting diagnosis.

This new feature, based on actual case histories, takes a different approach to learning: There's no single correct answer to the questions. Instead, the answers reflect different levels of nursing skill and experience, from novice to expert (as conceptualized by Patricia Benner), which will be explained in the written commentary you receive with your graded test. The patient's name and other details of the case have been altered to ensure confidentiality.

After reading this article and answering the questions, you'll be able to describe the assessments needed for a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach to caring for older adults. See page 50 for CE instructions and answer coupon.
