Helping patients discuss therapy options. Choosing Wisely, an initiative of the ABIM Foundation, provides lists of frequently used tests or procedures that should be questioned by patients. The lists have been developed by specialty organizations such as the American College of Cardiology. The foundation hopes that the lists will be used to spur conversations between patients and providers in order to determine "necessary and appropriate" treatments.
