Abstract

According to this study:

* Women with a history of a false-positive screening mammogram are at increased risk for developing breast cancer, compared with women with a true-negative result.

* The risk is greater in women referred for biopsy than in those referred only for additional imaging.

* Breast density did not alter the study results.
