Abstract

Most of the epidemiologic studies on pityriasis rosea have been done in Asia and Africa, as the prevalence of pityriasis rosea has been found to be more frequent in Africa (up to 2% of patient visits).2 The most recent epidemiologic pityriasis rosea study done in the United States was by Truhan in 1984.4 This study found the highest prevalence of pityriasis rosea in the 10 to 35 age-group.
