Abstract
According to this study:
* Electromagnetic-guided bedside placement of nasoenteral feeding tubes by nurses is as effective as endoscopic placement by gastroenterologists and may be preferred by patients.
* There are logistical advantages to bedside feeding tube placement by nurses, including a reduction in the time between physician order and tube placement, and in the time to start of feeding.
