Accentuate the positive
As Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Desert Samaritan Medical Center, Mesa, Ariz., Rhonda Anderson, RN, CNAA, FAAN, CHE, emphasizes quality patient care. "It's important to me to provide safe patient environments that offer clinically competent practitioners," she says.
A nurse for more than 30 years, Anderson strives to help her staff grow and continue to develop alongside the profession. "I challenge nurses, students, and faculty to remain positive and proactive in changing nursing's image," says Anderson. "We need to show others that we're proud of what we do."
Tremendous synergy
"My nursing career grants me so many opportunities to influence people's health and knowledge," says Patricia Lind, RN, MS, Associate Director of Patient/Nursing Services, Department of Veteran's Affairs Medical Center, Canandaigua, N.Y. "I'm a true believer in life-long learning."
After 27 years in nursing, Lind knows the value of supporting others during times of constant change. "The importance of patient and staff satisfaction and the interrelationship between the two is very meaningful to me," says Lind. "When patients, nurses, and other caregivers feel like their needs are being met, the satisfaction and subsequent synergy is tremendous."
