Abstract

Distance-learning methodologies are being incorporated in many academic programs as a mechanism for increasing the accessibility of educational programs in order to increase enrollments. The authors describe the developmental cycle for the redesign of a traditional registered nurse-bachelor of science in nursing (RN to BSN) program to an online program. The online program has proved successful in increasing accessibility, increasing enrollment, and providing an additional opportunity for registered nurses to obtain an advanced degree.
