Thank you for your comments. NACNS works at the national level with the NCSBN and its Advanced Practice (APRN) Task Force to influence recommendations for regulatory credentialing for CNSs. It should be noted that NCSBN is a nonregulatory agency and has no regulatory authority. Rather, the mission of the NCSBN is to facilitate communication among its members-the various state boards of nursing. It is at the level of individual state boards that regulation is determined. CNSs are encouraged to monitor their state board's activity regarding CNS regulation and to express concerns to individual state boards. Make it a goal to have a CNS member on every state board!
