Purdue Frederick Company Betadine PrepStick Applicator

Introducing a new way to site-prep: Betadine PrepStick applicator, which contains povidone-iodine 10% for convenient, neat, topical degerming. This self-saturating applicator does not require breaking glass to release the prepping solution. The desired amount of solution is released easily when the healthcare professional gently squeezes the handle of the applicator to break the patented internal seal. The self-saturating swab is intended for use in prepping small areas, e.g., for catheter insertions, spinal anesthesia, amniocentesis, needlesticks, etc. The swab handle is made of polypropylene, is 4 inches in length, is hollow, and is filled with approximately 2.6 grams of povidone-iodine 10%. The foam head allows the prepping solution to be applied in broad or narrow strokes, depending on the site. This facilitates fast, clean, and accurate prepping. The product is packaged dry, so there is no spillage or staining of clothing upon opening the wrapper. The healthcare professional controls the quantity of liquid dispensed and rate of flow to the prep site. For additional information, contact Mark Slotnick at (203) 853-0123, extension 7343.
