The 22nd VNAA Annual Meeting, coming this April in New Orleans!

Join VNAA in the city renowned for its spirited culture, cuisine, and music as we meet once again to share business ideas and collegial support!

"Jazz and Jambalaya-The Right Mix for Your Business" is this year's theme for the VNAA's annual conference and trade show being held at the Hyatt in downtown New Orleans, April 21 to 23!

VNAs and other home care organizations are focused on finding and advancing the right mix of business programs that answer needs in their communities. In some cities and towns this might be in the form of a telemedicine program targeting certain disease groups. In other locations, the plan for a travel immunization program might be the next program launched. The VNAA Annual Meeting offers workshops and roundtables that promote sharing ideas and strategies with sister organizations so they don't have to "reinvent the wheel."

Featured speakers this year include motivational humorist Vicki Hitzges, respected home care consultant Bob Fazzi, VNAA's Legislator of the Year, Senator Arlen Specter, and other dynamic home care experts. To register for the conference go to http://www.vnaa.org.

Educational workshops will address topical issues for all levels of the home care team. From wound care management to case-mix issues, you'll find workshops and poster sessions that will meet your learning needs while you earn continuing education credits.

A preconference panel discussion on Wednesday will address how VNAs and other home care agencies need to prepare for the unexpected as so many VNAs have faced community emergencies in recent months and years. Nancy Roberts, VNAA Board Chair and CEO of VNA of Care New England, will discuss how her agency dealt with the tragic station nightclub fire that killed more than 100 persons in her community. Other VNAs have their own stories of stretching resources and ingenuity in response to the September 11, 2001, emergency response.

One of the meeting highlights will be held on Thursday evening as we honor VNA staff and leaders who will receive awards for mentoring, clinical excellence, board leadership, and volunteerism! These are the VNA heroes, nominated by their agencies for the unrivaled efforts that they contribute to their VNA and to their community! Most award recipients and their families attend this event and there is seldom a dry eye in the room by the evening's end!

How can you wind up the week after absorbing all that knowledge?

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, otherwise known as the Jazz Fest, is an 11-day cultural feast where thousands of musicians, cooks, and craftspeople entertain visitors each year. See such stars as Fats Domino; Al Jarreau; Bob Dylan; Crosby, Stills & Nash; plus hundreds of other talented musicians during the first weekend of the event; Thursday April 24 through Sunday, April 27. How's that for timing?

The 22nd VNAA Annual Meeting is open to any not-for-profit home care organization. Come join us and mix it up!
