Workplace violence prevention programs in health care facilities. In June, Nevada's governor Steve Sisolak signed a law requiring hospitals and psychiatric facilities to develop and maintain plans for prevention of and response to violent incidents. A federal bill introduced in June, the Workplace Violence Prevention for Health Care and Social Service Workers Act, would require the U.S. Department of Labor to set occupational and health safety standards for violence prevention.
