IT IS WITH a heavy heart that I inform readers that The Health Care Manager (HCM) will be folding at the end of 2020 and merging with the Journal of Patient Safety (JPS). HCM's mission will continue as a section in each issue of JPS starting in 2021. This section will collect a group of select articles relevant to health care managers and the broader field of health care administration. Journal of Patient Safety is edited by Dr. David Westfall Bates, Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine and Primary Care at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Since 1982, The Health Care Manager has been an authoritative source of information for managers and executives in health care organizations. The Journal's long history of quality content is owed to the devotion of its founding and long-term editor Charles R. McConnell who passed away late last year. I had the pleasure of working with Mr. McConnell to publish the journal over the past several years and his editorship is greatly missed. Lastly, I want to acknowledge and thank the Journal's editorial board members, dedicated peer-reviewers, and authors who have all contributed to the Journal's longevity.

This last issue of HCM is dedicated to the memory of Mr. McConnell and it features a collection of top downloaded, previously published articles from the Journal's archive. On behalf of the editorial team at The Health Care Manager, I would like to express our sincerest gratitude to HCM readers and subscribers for their invaluable attention and participation over the past 40 years.
