As part of our continued collaboration with the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the Nurse Competency in Aging (NCA) initiative, the PCNA has launched the NCA Web Fellow Project. The NCA initiative seeks to improve the quality of healthcare older adults receive by enhancing the geriatric competence of specialty association nurse members. A goal of the NCA initiative is to provide a Web-based Comprehensive Geriatric Resource Center, http://www.GeroNurseOnline.org and to enhance the geriatric website content of the participating nursing association.

GeroNurseOnline contains valuable information about certification, advocacy, testing your aging IQ, and much more. Users can create an account to access even more resources, including a listing of American Nurses Association - Specialty Nursing Association Partners in Geriatrics (ANA-SNAPGs) organizations.

Through the Web Fellow Project, the PCNA has developed a geriatrics section on our website. Our goal is to provide you with information such as articles of interest, clinical resources specific to the care of older adults, Medicare reimbursement updates, grant opportunities, and links to other resources, including GeroNurseOnline.

The GeroNurse and PCNA sites are still evolving, so please visit the geriatric nursing page on the PCNA website (http://www.pcna.net) and http://www.GeroNurseOnline.org. If you have comments or requests for specific information related to geriatric nursing, please e-mail [email protected].
