As the Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) looks forward to 2022, we are especially excited for the annual convention, Aspire to Trailblaze. ANPD is so excited to stampede to beautiful San Antonio, Texas, from March 22 to 25. It is time to saddle up the horses and enjoy networking opportunities, an expansive vendor hall, poster viewing, and a vast array of concurrent and general sessions. ANPD member participants will be in-person in a live format this year, and this format will provide an engaging atmosphere and high-quality experience!

Aspire to Trailblaze will provide attendees with a great assortment of educational opportunities, including nine educational tracks that members can choose from. These educational tracks include onboarding/orientation, competency management, education (nursing and inter-professional), role development, collaborative partnerships, research/evidence-based practice/quality improvement, leadership, diversity and inclusion, and healthy work environments. Whether you mosey into a session that focuses on improving professional practice and the quality of nursing care or saunter into a session on how to best influence practice, Aspire to Trailblaze has something to offer for everyone (ANPD, 2021)! In additional, some of the content will be available as a recorded session to all ANPD members after the event.

The convention will have some general sessions where all ANPD members will be in attendance. Lieutenant Colonel Christina "Thumper" Hopper and Will Thalheimer will be the (two) main speakers in general sessions. Lieutenant Colonel Christina "Thumper" Hopper is a motivational speaker who will be talking about goal achievements and most likely her life journey. Will Thalheimer will most likely be discussing about innovations in learning. Also, there will be (two) general sessions that include an ANPD taskforce and a panel discussion. The Scope and Standards taskforce will be presenting their latest updates, and the Academies panel discussion will involve graduates and mentors with a rapid fire of best practice initiatives. All the speakers for this annual event are lassoed up and ready to provide our constituency with the ideation of aspiring to trailblaze to our native lands.

San Antonio is the seventh most populous city in the United States, home to over 1.5 million residents. The weather in late March should be comfortable, with average highs in the 70s during the day, so come and enjoy an early spring! During the conference, abundant shopping, galleries, and nightlife will greet you in downtown San Antonio. If you choose to extend your trip for a few days, explore all that Texas hill country and San Antonio have to offer. Whether you want to visit the Alamo, Sea World, or the beautiful River Walk, there is plenty to do in and around the city (Visit San Antonio, 2021)!

With our theme, Aspire to Trailblaze, you will be able to pioneer through concurrent session topics as you learn more about favorite subjects or venture out of your comfort zone and learn something new! No matter which option you choose, we know you will stampede from the conference energized and ready to bring back new and exciting ideas. We look forward to seeing you at our annual convention in March as we Aspire to Trailblaze. Please visit the ANPD's website for more information on the convention, registration, and hotel information.
