The NINR releases its 2022-2026 Strategic Plan. The Strategic Plan for 2022-2026 recently released by the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) outlines a vision for advancing health and the science of nursing through research. The plan takes a holistic approach that combines health care and public health and recognizes the urgent need to address health disparities. According to the NINR director's overview, the plan "boldly communicates [nursing's] imperative to ensure that all people have the opportunity-and ability-to achieve optimal health, well-being, and quality of life." The strategic plan prioritizes research that explores solutions across clinical, community, and policy settings, advances equity, and is innovative and rigorous. Rather than orienting research around specific diseases, life stages, or topics, the plan proposes an approach that utilizes five lenses: health equity, social determinants of health, population and community health, prevention and health promotion, and systems and models of care.
