This past March, the Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) members and leaders came together for Aspire to Trailblaze, our first in-person event since the start of the pandemic. Over 750 registered nursing professional development (NPD) practitioners came together in San Antonio, Texas, for the convention. There were three and a half days filled with over 30 hours of continuing education, poster sessions, and vendor exhibits. The new "NPD scope and standards" was launched during convention, and the latest NPD research was presented. Both were received with much anticipation and excitement! More importantly, we were able to network with our peers in person for the first time in over 2 years, and that was invaluable! We closed our time together with a look forward to our 2023 convention in Atlanta, Georgia!

But the learning is not over for 2022! The ANPD staff and Board of Directors (BOD) recognized that travel for an in-person event is still not an option for all our members. After the success of our 2021 virtual convention, the BOD approved the development of a virtual event to meet the needs of our diverse membership. In the spring, we hinted at a virtual event for the fall of 2022, and now that event is quickly approaching!

This coming NPD Week (September 11-17, 2022), we encourage all NPD practitioners to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity! NPD Cafe will be full of collaboration, insights, and useful nuggets for NPDs in all settings and specialties! This symposium is not a repeat of the spring convention content but instead is chock full of new presentations with synchronous and asynchronous options to fit any schedule! Live NPD Cafe session topics include the following:

* ethics in NPD,

* communication/personality assessment (e.g., DISC),

* cultivating professional confidence, and

* emotional intelligence.

This event will take place on Wednesday (September 14) and Thursday (September 15) on a robust virtual platform. Podcast episodes, posters, and other session recordings will be available on demand for participants to earn a maximum of 34.5 contact hours!

The ANPD team has worked hard to provide a high-tech and engaging virtual experience! The ANPD staff and BOD look forward to "seeing" you once again at the NPD Cafe! Please visit the ANPD's website for more information on convention and registration (ANPD, 2022).
