Abstract

Clinical skill competency maintenance is a regulatory and quality requirement, making it top priority for healthcare organizations. Staff having the proper clinical competencies to provide high-quality care begins with nursing orientation and continues with the maintenance of annual skill competency. Building a robust training and clinical competency program requires collaboration between nursing education and nursing leadership. This project describes a model for nursing orientation and continued training in an ambulatory care setting.
