Abstract
This integrated literature review examines the impact of gentle persuasive approach (GPA) education on dementia care competencies among nurses working in long-term care settings. The GPA is a specialized training program designed to equip healthcare professionals with practical skills and techniques for providing compassionate, person-centered care to individuals with dementia, particularly during responsive behaviors. The findings highlight that GPA education enhances nurses' knowledge, confidence, and communication skills, fostering improved patient outcomes and workplace safety.
