Abstract
Well-qualified nurse educators are vital for preparing nursing graduates to provide safe, quality patient care. Standardized nurse educator competencies advance the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of competent nurse educators, especially in master of science in nursing (MSN) programs. The World Health Organization and the National League for Nursing each established nurse educator competence statements. The study conducted a crosswalk analysis to identify alignment and variance between the two sets of competence statements. All statements except one World Health Organization subcompetency aligned, highlighting the need for competency-based education. We discuss recommendations for integrating these findings into nursing education-focused MSN programs.
