Mpox Resources for Nurses

Prior to the 2022 outbreak, which began in early May, mpox was endemic in central and west Africa. Presently, mpox cases are occurring around the world mostly through close, intimate contact with someone who has the virus.
Mpox is an orthopoxvirus and is a close relative of smallpox. The smallpox vaccine may prevent or shorten the course of mpox; considerations for vaccination can be found
here. As concerns related to this outbreak increase, we’ve compiled the resources below to keep you informed, and ready to care for and educate patients and the public.
