Certification in one’s specialty is no longer just something that’s “nice to have.” While not a requirement for practice, more and more employers are seeking out nurses who exhibit a commitment to excellence in their area of practice through specialty certification. This is especially true for those hospitals which are seeking Magnet Recognition® and need to meet eligibility standards.
