Australian flu is just a strain of flu. After you have had a strain of flu, you build an immunity to that particular strain. Each year different strains are more prolific. When you get a flu jab, they try and predict which strains to protect against each year. You cannot be protected against all strains. However, there are ways you can minimise your chances of catching flu and methods of helping your body fight the virus faster, such as antiviral treatments.
