Michigan CE Requirements for License Renewal

As a nurse in the state of MichiganMichigan.jpeg, you are required to earn continuing education to renew your active license.

Renewal Requirements

RN
  • Every two years
    • 25 hours of continuing education
    • 2 hours in pain and pain symptom management
LPN
  • Every two years
    • 25 hours of continuing education
    • 2 hours in pain and pain symptom management
Advanced Practice 
  • Every two years
    • 2 hours in pain and pain symptom management
    • 20 hours for nurse midwife initially certified after 1996
    • 40 hours in specialty for nurse practitioner certified before 1991
