New Jersey CE Requirements

As a nurse in the state of New Jersey, you are required to complete 30 hours of continuing education for license renewal, including 1 hour related to prescription opioid drugs, including alternatives to opioids for managing and treating pain, and the risks and signs of opioid abuse, addiction, and diversion. Here are CE activities related to prescription opioids:

CE Appropriate Use of Opioids in Managing Chronic Pain
American Journal of Nursing, 3 contact hours

CE Acute Pain Management for Inpatients with Opioid Use Disorder
American Journal of Nursing, 2.5 contact hours

CE Nurses' Role in Preventing Prescription Opioid Diversion
American Journal of Nursing, 2 contact hours

We also invite you to take advantage of NursingCenter's CESaver Collection, a robust online nursing continuing education resource for nationally recognized contact hours — for one low fee.

This special CESaver Collection, which allows you to take as many continuing education courses in the collection as you want, is available for only $39.95 a year or $59.95 for two years. With exclusive content from Lippincott Williams & Wilkins award-winning, peer-reviewed nursing journals, you will find credible, current, authoritative, evidence-based resources to help you in your practice and meet your license renewal requirement.
