Connecticut CE Requirements for License Renewal
As a nurse in the state of Connecticut, you are required to earn continuing education to renew your active APRN license. Please visit the Connecticut State Department of Public Health website for further information and updates. Thank you.
Renewal Requirements
RN and LPN
- License renewal after January 1, 2022, and once every 6 years thereafter:
- 1 contact hour: screening for conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder, risk of suicide, depression and grief
- 1 contact hour: suicide prevention training
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
- Every two years
- 50 hours of continuing education related to your area of practice, and including:
- at least 5 contact hours of training or education in pharmacotherapeutics
- at least 1 contact hour in each of the following topics:
- at least 2 contact hours of training or education on the topic of mental health conditions common to veterans and family members of veterans be completed not less than once every six years. This includes determining whether a patient is a veteran or family member of a veteran; screening for post-traumatic stress disorder, risk of suicide, depression and grief; and suicide prevention training.
