The American Society for Nutrition (ASN) in partnership with Herbalife Nutrition announces the launch of the Herbalife Nutrition Scholarship program.

 

Beginning in 2019, the ASN Foundation will award a $5000 scholarship to support the research and/or clinical training of a promising student seeking an advanced degree in nutrition or related field. The scholarship is directed to registered dietitians (RDs) or those intending to become an RD. In addition, applicants must

 

* be an ASN member residing in the United States;

 

* be accepted/enrolled in a postbaccalaureate MS, PhD, ScD, DrPH, or clinical health science graduate program; and

 

* have demonstrated an interest in sports nutrition, cardiovascular nutrition, aging, dietary bioactive components, microbiome, vitamins and minerals, wellness nutrition, weight management, behavioral health nutrition, or nutrition education for the public and/or public health/community nutrition.

 

 

Applicants must receive counsel and direction from a sponsor who is an ASN member investigator or clinical educator.

 

The award will be presented at Nutrition 2019, ASN's annual scientific sessions being held June 8 to 11, 2019, in Baltimore, Maryland. The scholarship recipient will receive a complimentary registration to the meeting, as well as an all-expense paid trip to Herbalife Nutrition's headquarters in Los Angeles, California, at a later date.

PRESENT YOUR RESEARCH AND CLINICAL CASE VIGNETTES!

New this year, ASN is accepting clinical vignettes in addition to new, original research. A clinical vignette or case report is a means of disseminating new knowledge gained from clinical practice. It can address an unusual condition, a complication of a known disease, an unusual side effect or adverse response to a mode of treatment, or a new approach to a condition. Submit your abstracts by January 18.

 

LEARN FROM THE BEST

Nutrition 2019's "From Research to Practice" clinical track will be held Saturday, June 8, to Sunday, June 10. This programming features reviews of hot topics in nutrition with discussions on clinical applications. Featured topics include aging and cognition, eating disorders, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, cancer treatment and survivorship, fad diets, and much more!
