I read with interest the article entitled Caring for a Laboring Woman With Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (July 2004), and I want to know more. I felt sorry for that poor husband. What involvement did he have in the labor and birth? What teaching was done for/with him to prepare him to care for his wife and newborn infant? How much self-care could CS manage? How much care of the infant could she do? Who was helping at home with the 4 year old? I really would like to see a paper from the other disciplines involved in CS' home care. I want to know how this story ends!! And, unfortunately, it's not going to have a happy ending.
